Award season is upon us, just probably not the one you’re thinking. This coming Tuesday, November 22nd, Lowe and Partners will present and sponsor the first Nova Award to the best new talent from Central Saint Martins Crossover show. Crossover is the first exhibition at the college’s brand new site at King’s Cross, showcasing the work of the 2011 graduates from several disciplines including art, digital, drama spatial and product design, music, graphic design, photography and fashion. So, ‘What is the Nova Award,’ you ask? Nova is a collaborative award created by the partnership of Lowe + Partners and Central St. Martins to award the top talent of the CSM Graduates of 2011.
Tony Wright, Chairman, Lowe + Partners commented: “As a global communications agency, our currency is creativity. With the creation of the Nova award, it is a privilege to support the fostering and discovery of the talent of the future, for which Central St Martin’s is world famous. Their alumni is a who’s who of iconic creatives – names like Alexander McQueen, Terrence Conran, James Dyson, Joe Strummer, Stella McCartney – with the creation of Nova we hope to spot the newest talent. ”
Wright, along with Jane Rapley OBE, Head of CSM, will present the first Nova to the best new talent from the Cross Over show, at a Private View on November 22nd, plus a substantial cash prize.
Lowe is also working with Kin Design to create an online installation of the exhibit (and the Nova winner when announced) so that the Lowe network can experience the event and winning work.
Keep an eye on this spot for next weeks report from the awards ceremony.
